We have a network of referral sources that we can recommend including: mental health therapy, educational psychological evaluations, speech language pathologists, neurodevelopment therapists, nutritionists, functional medicine, and occupational therapists.

We specialize in only referring to individuals with a reading specialist degree or an extensive number of years as an experienced reading teacher. We will not connect you with an individual that is not trained in the specialized area of literacy. Most of our specialists are trained in various intervention approaches including Reading Recovery, which is a specialized, research based intervention that supports the lowest achieving first graders experience success with reading and writing. We also utilize Orton Gillingham, a multi sensory approach, designed for children and adults with learning differences, particularly dyslexia.

Oftentimes, the referral process in schools can be lengthy and daunting. Your child can wait a year or longer before being referred to have extra support. We're here to put your worries at ease. We offer informal reading assessments and will explain the results to you. We will then use them to guide our instruction in order to meet your child where he is.

Our services are different from other tutoring centers. For the initial appointment, non diagnostic assessments will be administered to determine the exact skills your child has and areas needing remediation related to decoding, fluency, spelling, and written expression. This assessment also helps us understand your child’s personality, temperament, and feelings regarding reading and writing; it is the foundation for where we will begin intervention.

*It is not diagnostic testing to determine special education eligibility and is not a neuropsychological evaluation administered by a licensed psychologist.

We offer online (virtual), interactive sessions if you do not live in the Alpharetta area. It is quite simple and the only items you need are a laptop, headphones, and internet connection! Our families love this option for vacations, busy school schedules, or even when a child stays home sick from school. Contact us for more details regarding virtual sessions.

Unfortunately, insurance companies currently do not recognize educational therapy or reading and writing intervention as a medical need. Some families use HSA or FSA if their prescribing physician states there is a need for therapy. Please check with your insurance company for specific requirements regarding intervention services.
